Full Calf Rebacked. VG - Some Browning. 1st and Only Edition. 4to. A two volume set of one of Loudon's earliest works with strong architectural content. Repton's work is analysed and criticised. Volume I: xii +[xxx] + [vii] + 353 text pp; 15 monochrome; Volume II: pp355-723 + [6] + [2]; 17 monovhrome plates, plate32 has a slide showing the before and after situations. Both volumes have been rebacked, with tape inside. There are mould marks in volume I, and areas of old water staining in the latter part of volume II, barely affecting a few plates. One plate is in facsimile. All in all, this is a sound copy of this important and increasingly scarce work. |
